Cloning Strategies is a creative project run by Andriy Tovkach, a PhD scientists with expertise in molecular biology, biochemistry, and plant genetics. My goal is to share my knowledge with the world through video and animations. I strive to create fun yet professional learning experiences for anyone interested in life science.

Key Steps of Molecular Cloning is an animation that shows what happens inside the cells and in a test tube during the process of isolation of DNA fragments. Although it looks simple, this animation goes into a great detail demonstrating structure of bacterial plasmids used in cloning, the process of DNA amplification, action of restriction endonucleases, ligation of cut plasmid and insert, and transformation of plasmids into bacterial cells.

Simply Cloning is my full length video course on molecular cloning. It was filmed in a real lab during an actual cloning experiment. The original goal of this course was to set up a good experimental framework for new students and technicians entering a biology research lab. Without me planning it, Simply Cloning also turned out to be a great visual aid for professors teaching biology classes at universities.
